Before Applying, Please Read This Section Carefully

Registration for TrainMon5 is a three-step process. Those three steps are:

  • Check to see if there is any layout that is available for your area by looking at the list of available layouts
  • Proving you are a member of ATCS Monitor Groups.io community (not the Facebook group)
  • Filling out the application below

Finally, all applications for membership are manually reviewed. Please remember that this is a volunteer hobby and the application reviewers review membership requests when they are able to do so and factors such as personal matters, weekend plans and holidays can slow down the review process. Therefore, please exercise patience after submitting a membership application.

Step 1 - Check Your Area of Interest to Monitor for Availability

Before applying for membership, you should do your due diligence to confirm that there is a layout for the area that you wish to monitor as it may do you no good to register for TrainMon5 if there is not. You can view the current list of available layouts at the following link:

Also, please do not ask about the availability of layouts for TrainMon5 on the ATCS Monitor Groups.io platform as that is not the place to have those questions addressed.

Step 2 - Verifying ATCS Monitor Membership

*** THIS STEP IS NOT OPTIONAL ***

This step requires you to verify you are a member of the ATCS Monitor Groups.io community. To successfully compelete this step you must:

  • Use the link provided below to open the ATCS Monitor membership validation table
  • Provide your last name
  • Provide the email address you want to use to register with
  • Return to this screen to complete the remainder of the application resuming at Step 3 below
  • Do not delete your information after completing registration as it will be needed to complete verification

When opening the link below, if you are not prompted with a form to enter a last name and email address, this means that either you are not logged into Groups.io or you are not a member of the ATCS Monitor group. In the latter case, you will not be able to finish the remaining steps.

Step 3 - Apply
All fields denoted with an asterisk (*) are required
Enter and Confirm Your Email Address
Do not use email aliases when registering as this may inhibit your ability to recover access to your account if you forget your credentials in the future.
Enter and Confirm Your Username
  • All usernames are subject to review and approval by TrainMon5 staff. Potentially offensive usernames will be rejected on review.
  • Your username cannot resemble anything close to the "TrainMon5" name or the "TM5" acronym.
  • Usernames must be at least 4 and no more than 32 characters long.
  • Usernames are final. They can't be changed once they are assigned to an account so be sure to choose your username carefully.
  • Finally, pasting a value into the "Confirm Username" field is disabled. This is to prevent accidental errors when choosing a username by forcing your to type it out to confirm it matches the "Username" field.

Only TrainMon5 administrators will see the information you enter in the "About Me" section. For this section, TrainMon5 would like to know just a little information about the applicant.

You do not need to list any personal details but please provide some relavent information about your areas of interest in the railroading hobby or other hobbies you enjoy.

Please note that partial answers like "railfan", "n/a", "I don't know" or "I don't want to provide any information" are not acceptable values for the this section and will result in rejection of your application.
